Dear Elk River Girls Swim & Dive Families, Athletes, Booster Club Members, and Fans,

As many of you know, this upcoming season will mark a new chapter for our Elk River Girls Swim & Dive program, making this message incredibly bittersweet for me to write. It also closes a very special chapter in my life, as I have been a part of this program since 2009, something I truly never imagined coming to an end. While it is difficult to step away from something that has meant so much to me, I am incredibly excited to announce and welcome our new Head Swim & Dive Coach for the 2026–2027 season, Kat Vail!

Over the past five years as head coach, this program has meant so much to me. I have treasured every season, every meet, every practice, and every memory we have created together. It has truly been an honor to coach such an amazing group of young ladies and to work alongside such absolutely incredible assistant coaches, be a part of a team with the best and most amazing supportive parents/fans, and work with our dedicated, supportive and passionate booster club. Each one of you has left a special mark on my heart, and I will forever be grateful for the relationships and experiences we have shared.

While it is difficult to step away from something I care so deeply about, I do so knowing the program is in wonderful hands. I am thrilled to hand over such an outstanding group of athletes (and amazing people in and out of the water) to Coach Vail. I know you will all continue to do incredible things under her leadership and enthusiasm. Coach Vail is no stranger to our program and is already a valued part of the ERGSD family. Familiar name? That is absolutely correct... her wonderful daughter, Vivian, joined our team as a 7th grader last fall, her amazing husband, Brian runs the computer at our home meets and lastly, Coach Vail stepped in to lead the Elk River Boys Swim & Dive team during the 2025-2026 season. Coach Vail shares the same love and dedication for Elk River Swim & Dive that I have always had, and I am excited to see the program continue to grow and thrive with her at the helm. 

Please join me in giving Coach Vail a warm welcome to our Elk River Swim & Dive family as she begins this exciting new journey with the team.
