Week #10– 2nd Place at True Team Sections & Dual Meet Championship Week!

Week #10 – 2nd Place at True Team Sections & Dual Meet Championship Week!

What an incredible finish to Week #9! We closed out the week with a big win over STMA on Tuesday and an amazing 2nd Place finish at the Section 8AA True Team Meet!

We made a few strategic lineup changes this weekend to give some athletes a break from their usual events before heading into our final dual meet and the upcoming Championship season. It was exciting to see our depth and versatility shine through at such a competitive meet!

For those unfamiliar, the True Team format is unique—every swimmer scores. With eight teams, individual events scored from 32 points for 1st to 1 point for 32nd, and relays were double—64 points for 1st down to 2 points for 32nd. This meet truly measures a team’s overall strength, and we showed just how deep and balanced our roster is. Great job, everyone!

Looking Ahead: Final Dual Meet Week 💪

As we approach our last dual meet, it’s crucial that athletes take today to rest, recover, and get organized for the week ahead. Tomorrow we return to late practices (only one true late practice this week).

Athletes should focus on hydration and recovery over the next few days to bounce back from the weekend and prepare for Tuesday’s showdown with Champlin Park. As I always remind the team—when you come in with positive energy, determination, and the mindset to fight for every race, every event, you are unstoppable.

We believe wholeheartedly in this team. While that doesn’t always mean a best time or highest score, it does mean giving everything you have in the moment—for yourself and for your teammates. We’ll need everyone ready, healthy, and fired up to compete hard for this final dual meet push!

Championship Season Is Coming 🏆

It’s hard to believe, but Championship Season is right around the corner! Athletes will begin preparing for either the JV Conference Meet on Saturday, October 25th, or the Section 8AA Championship Meet on Friday, November 7th and Saturday, November 8th.

Championship rosters will be announced later this week after we finalize placements based on this past weekend’s results.

Over the next four weeks, it’s essential that athletes continue to prioritize rest, recovery, and good nutrition—these small habits make a big difference as we head into the most exciting part of the season!

Please refer to the Upcoming Week Schedule for details as it changes quite a bit from day to day due to no school. As discussed at the pre-season meeting, we will continue to practice over MEA as we move into the final stretch of the season. It is our last and vital push of hard training before taper starts. I’ve received a few notices from athletes who will be absent during this time. In an effort to maintain a healthy work-life balance—and more so because workouts are customized for each lane and adjusted daily—I will not be providing individual workouts. However, I encourage athletes that will who will be missing to get in the pool and stay active if they have the opportunity.

Have a great rest of your Sunday!
