Heading into Week #5 Already!

Week #4 Recap

Week four brought plenty of hard work both in and out of the pool, and it paid off. On Thursday, we secured another win against Rogers. Meets with the Royals are always competitive, and this one was no exception. By the 100 backstroke, we had already built enough points to seal the victory and were able to swim exhibition the rest of the way. The girls swam and dove exceptionally—many personal records and an incredible energy that made for a fun atmosphere.

After a quick turnaround from a tough Friday night practice, we headed to the Edina Invite on Saturday. It was exciting to face teams we don’t typically see during the season, and the meet was a great addition to our schedule. Despite the heavy training load, the girls showed grit and learned to compete while tired. Those who committed to Labor Day practices and dryland workouts were especially taxed, making their performances even more impressive.

This week we will transition to early practices, giving the girls more time afterward to focus on homework instead of trying to finish it beforehand. As the fall weather settles in and temperatures drop, please remind your athlete to dress appropriately—shoes, hats/hoods for wet hair, and warmer clothing are especially important since evenings are much colder than the daytime.

On Thursday, we will travel to Spring Lake Park. The bus will depart from the pool at 3:45 p.m. Additionally, a smaller group will be competing at the University of Minnesota’s Maroon and Gold Invite on Saturday. That roster was posted last week. This bus will depart from the pool at 8:30am.  Four meets in two weeks can be demanding, please encourage your athletes to stay on top of their schoolwork early in the week, get plenty of rest, eat well, and stay hydrated.

Please check the master schedule for our schedule this week.

Have a great rest of your Sunday!
